Dunhill Cup & Alfred Dunhill Cup, 1985 - 2000

In 1985, Johann Rupert, Chairman of the Richemont Corporation (parent company of Dunhill) launched the Dunhill Cup. This competition, re-named the Alfred Dunhill Cup in 1992, was an international strokeplay-matchplay team event over the Old Course. The winners were:

1990 - Ireland
1991 - Sweden
1992 - England
1993 - USA
1994 - Canada
1995 - Scotland
1996 - USA
1997 - South Africa
1998 - South Africa
1999 - Spain
2000 - Spain

From 2001, the international team format was replace by the Dunhill Links Championship, a pro-am staged over Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and the Old Course.
