Open Championship Venues

Just 14 courses have hosted the Open Championship since the competition was founded in 1860. St Andrews, the "Home of Golf", has hosted the competition the most times at 28 times.

The Royal & Ancient have announced the following venue for future Open Championships: Royal St George's (2011), Royal Lytham & St Annes (2012), Muirfield (2013) and Royal Liverpool (2014).
